FIFA World Cup - 1930
The FIFA World Cup - 1930 was the inaugural World Cup tournament organized by FIFA. This was the world championship for men's national association football teams. It took place in Uruguay from 13 - 30 July 1930. Uruguay was the first nation who hosted the world cup and took the pride of wining. All matches were played in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo, the majority at the Stadium Centenary, which was built for the tournament. Thirteen teams (seven from South America, four from Europe and two from North America) participated in that world cup. Few European teams chose to participate because of the difficulty of travelling to South America. In the final, hosts and pretournament favorites Uruguay defeated Argentina 4-2 in front of a crowd of 93,000 people and become the first nation to win the World Cup.

FIFA World Cup - 1934
1934 FIFA World Cup was the second FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national association football teams. It took place in Italy from 27 May to 10 June 1934. This championship was the first, for which teams had to qualify to take part. Thirty two nations entered the competition and after qualification, 16 teams participated in the finals tournament. In quarter-final Austria, Italy, Germany and Czechoslovakia won there game and qualified for semi-finals. In first semifinal Italy defeated Austria 1-0 and in the 2nd, Czechoslovakia won 3-1 by defeating Germany. Italy became the second World Cup champion, beating Czechoslovakia by 2-1 in the final and Germany took 3rd place by defeating Austria by 3-2.

FIFA World Cup - 1938
The 1938 FIFA World Cup was the third staging of the World Cup, and was held in France from 4 June to 19 June. Italy retained the championship, beating Hungary 4-2 in the final. After the qualifying round 16 country was selected for first knockout round and among them Italy, France, Brazil, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden, Cuba were qualified for the next round (Quarterfinals). In quarter-finals Italy defeated France, Brazil defeated Czechoslovakia, Hungary defeated Switzerland & Sweden defeated Cuba and qualifies for semifinals. In 16 June 1938 Italy defeated Brazil by 2-1 goals & entered the final. In second semifinal Hungary defeated Sweden by 5-1 goals. For 3rd place Brazil played with Sweden and won the game by 2-1 goals.

FIFA World Cup - 1950
The 1950 FIFA World Cup, held in Brazil from 24 June to 16 July, was the 4-th FIFA World Cup. It was the first World Cup since 1938, the planned 1942 & 1946 competitions having been canceled owing to World War II. It was won by Uruguay, who had won the inaugural competition in 1930, clinching the cup by beating the hosts Brazil 2-1 in the deciding match of the four-team final group (this was the only world cup which was not decided by a one-match final). It was also the first tournament where the trophy was referred to as the Jules Rimet Cup, to mark the 25th anniversary of Rimet's presidency of FIFA. In this world cup initially 16 country participated but India and France withdrew there name.

FIFA World Cup - 1954
The 1954 FIFA World Cup, the fifth staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in Switzerland from 16 June to 4 July. Switzerland was chosen as hosts in July 1946. The tournament set a number of all-time records for goal-scoring, including the highest average goals scored per game. Brazil and Hungary Faced each other in quarter-final match where Hungary won the game by 4-2, in other quarter-finals Uruguay defeated England by 4-2, West Germany (after World War II, Germany divided into two parts one was called East Germany other part was called West Germany) defeated Yugoslavia by 2-0 and Austria defeated Switzerland by 7-5. In Semi finals Hungary beat Uruguay by 4-2 and West Germany beat Austria by 6-1 and enters the final. The tournament was won by West Germany, who defeated Hungary 3–2 in the final, giving them their first title.

FIFA World Cup - 1958
The 1958 FIFA World Cup, the sixth staging of the World Cup, was hosted by Sweden from 8 June to 29 June. The tournament was won by Brazil, who beat Sweden 5–2 in the final for their first title. To date, this marks the only occasion that a World Cup staged in Europe and was not won by any European team. The tournament is notable for marking the debut on the world stage of then largely unknown 17-year old boy Pele. On 24 June 1958 Sweden beat West Germany by 3-1 which was played in Gothenburg and in Solana Brazil beat France by 5-2 goals. For 3rd place France played with West Germany where France won by 6-3.

FIFA World Cup - 1962
The 1962 FIFA World Cup, the seventh staging of the World Cup, was held in Chile from 30 May to 17 June. It was won by Brazil, who retained the championship. This marked the second time that a country successfully defended a World Cup title. Chile was awarded the 1962 World Cup over opposition from Argentina and West Germany in Lisbon, Portugal on June 10, 1956. This was the first World Cup since 1938 for which there was a contested host selection. In the world cup final Brazil won by defeated Czechoslovakia 3-1 goals and retained the championship.

FIFA World Cup - 1966
The 1966 FIFA World Cup, the eighth staging of the World Cup, was held in England from 11 July to 30 July. England beat West Germany 4–2 in the final, winning the World Cup for the first time, so becoming the first host to win the tournament since Italy in 1934. In quarter finals England beat Argentina by 1-0 and enter the semi finals where they faced Portugal, they beat North Koreans by 5-3. In other quarter finals West Germany defeated Uruguay by 4-0 and Soviet Union beat Hungary by 2-1. In semi fanals England beat Portugal & West Germany defeated Soviet Union in similar goal difference (2-1).

FIFA World Cup - 1970
The 1970 FIFA World Cup, the ninth staging of the World Cup, was held in Mexico, from 31 May to 21 June. The 1970 tournament was the first World Cup hosted in North America, and the first held outside South America and Europe. In a match-up of two-time World Cup champions, the final was won by Brazil, who beat Italy 4-1. With their third World Cup triumph, Brazil was allowed to keep the Jules Rimet Trophy permanently. The 1970 World Cup is now remembered as a classic and this was the first World Cup to be televised in color.

FIFA World Cup - 1974
The 1974 FIFA World Cup, the tenth staging of the World Cup, which was held in West Germany from 13 June to 7 July. The tournament marked the first time that the current trophy, the FIFA World Cup Trophy, created by the Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga, was awarded. The previous trophy, the Jules Rimet Trophy, had been won for the third time by Brazil in 1970 and awarded permanently to the Brazilians. The final was held on 7 July 1974 at Olympia stadium, Munich between Netherlands and West Germany. The host nation West Germany won the title beating the Netherlands in the final by 2-1; this was the second world cup for them after 1954 world cup.

FIFA World Cup - 1978
The 1978 FIFA World Cup, the 11th staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in Argentina between 1 June and 25 June. The 1978 World Cup was won by Argentina . This win was the first World Cup title for Argentina, who became the fifth team (after Uruguay, Italy, England and West Germany), to be both hosts and world champions. In second round of this world cup, Netherlands became the group champion in Group-A & Argentina became the group champion in Group-B as a result they were qualified for the world cup final. Argentina won the final by defeated Netherlands 3–1 goals in extra time, where Daniel Bertoni and Kempes scored for Argentina, and Kempes became the tournament's top scorer with six goals. In this world cup the FIFA's official match ball was the Adidas Tango.

FIFA World Cup - 1982
The 1982 FIFA World Cup, the 12th FIFA World Cup, was held in Spain from 13 June to 11 July. In group stage Poland was the group champion from Group-A, West Germany was the group champion from Group-B, Italy & France ware the group champion from Group-c and Group-D respectively and they (Poland, West Germany, Italy and France) were qualified for semifinals. In first semi-final Italy beat Poland by 2-0 but in second semi-final West Germany draw there game with France in full time and the winner was decided by penalty shoot-out where West Germany win against France by 5-4 goals. The tournament was won by Italy, after beating West Germany by 3-1 in the final.

FIFA World Cup - 1986
The 1986 FIFA World Cup, the 13th FIFA World Cup, was held in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons Colombia was not able to host the competition. It was won by Argentina (their second title, after also winning in 1978), led by Diego Maradona who scored the infamous "Hand of God goal", and also a goal voted as "Goal of the Century", in the same quarter-final against England. These were two of the five goals that Maradona scored during the tournament, and he also created another five for his team-mates. Argentina beat West Germany 3–2 in the final at Mexico City's Stadium ‘Azteca’.

FIFA World Cup - 1990
The 1990 FIFA World Cup was the 14th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 8 June to 8 July 1990 in Italy, the second country to host the event twice. Teams representing 116 national football associations from all six populated continents entered the competition, with its qualification process beginning in April 1988. Twenty-two teams qualified from this process, along with host nation Italy and defending champion Argentina, for the finals tournament. The official match ball was the Adidas Etrusco Unico. The tournament was won by West Germany, who claimed their third World Cup title by defeating reigning champions Argentina 1–0 in the final, a rematch of the previous final four years earlier. Hosts Italy beat England 2–1 to finish third after both lost their semi-finals in penalty shootouts.

The 1994 FIFA World Cup, the 15th staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in nine cities across the United States from June 17 to July 17, 1994. The United States was chosen as the host by FIFA on July 4, 1988. Brazil became the first nation to win four World Cup titles when they beat Italy 3-2 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 0-0 after extra-time, the first World Cup final to be decided on penalties. The 1998 FIFA World Cup, the 16th FIFA World Cup, was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998. France was chosen as host nation by FIFA on 2 July 1992. This was the first FIFA World Cup in which 32 teams competed at the finals. Brazil, Denmark, Argentina, Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany and Croatia were the 8 teams who are qualified for quarter-finals. The tournament was won by France, who beat Brazil 3-0 in the final. France won their first title, becoming the seventh nation to win a World Cup, and the sixth (after Uruguay, Italy, England, West Germany and Argentina) to win the tournament on home soil. The official match ball was the Adidas Tricolore.

FIFA World Cup - 2002
The 2002 FIFA World Cup was the 17th FIFA World Cup, held in Republic of Korea and Japan from 31 May to 30 June. It was also the first World Cup held in Asia, and the last in which the golden goal rule was implemented. In the quarter-final, Brazil's Ronaldinho caught out England goalkeeper David Seaman with a lobbed free kick from 42 yards to send Brazil into the semi finals. Brazil won that game by 2-1 goals. In other quarter-finals Germany beat United States by 1-0 & Turkey beat Senegal by same goal difference. The South Korea vs. Spain match was decided by the penalty shoot out where South Korea won by 5-3. Brazil won the tournament for a record fifth time, beating Germany 2-0 in the final. Turkey beat Korea Republic 3-2 in the third place match.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which won the right to host the event in July 2000. Thirty-one teams qualified from this process, along with the host nation, Germany, for the finals tournament. Italy won the tournament, claiming their fourth World Cup title. They defeated France 5–3 in a penalty shootout in the final, after extra time had finished in a 1–1 draw. Germany defeated Portugal 3–1 to finish third.

FIFA World Cup - 2010
The 2010 FIFA World Cup was the 19th FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national association football teams. It took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010. The bidding process for hosting the tournament finals was open only to African nations; in 2004, the international football federation, FIFA, selected South Africa over Egypt and Morocco to become the first African nation to host the finals. In the final, Spain, the European champions, defeated third-time finalists the Netherlands 1-0 after extra time, with Andrés Iniesta's goal in the 116th minute giving Spain their first world title, the first time that a European nation has won the tournament outside its home continent.
